Lucknow, May 12: The BJP is in high spirits following the NDA’s third consecutive return to power in Assam, with Himanta Biswa Sarma taking the oath as Chief Minister once again. Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, Keshav Prasad Maurya, stated that the people of Assam have endorsed development.
Maurya described the victory as a “win for development and good governance,” emphasizing that the public has shown trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the policies of the double-engine government.
While attending the oath-taking ceremony in Assam, Maurya congratulated Sarma on his third term and noted that the people have rejected divisive politics in favor of development.
He remarked that under Sarma’s leadership, Assam has emerged as a “powerhouse” in Northeast India, setting new standards for development. The mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” from Prime Minister Modi has transformed the political landscape of the country. Deputy CM Maurya launched a sharp attack on Congress, claiming that despite decades in power, the party has led the country towards corruption, appeasement, and backwardness. He accused Congress of hindering national development for years, a trend that the NDA government has reversed since 2014.
He expressed confidence that double-engine governments in states like Uttar Pradesh and Assam are accelerating the pace of development. In recent years, Northeast India has made unprecedented progress in sectors such as roads, connectivity, education, health, investment, and employment. This is why the public has consistently placed their trust in the NDA government for the third time.
