Bihars Liquor Ban Remains Firm, Nitish Kumar to Decide Next Chief Minister: Umesh Singh Kushwaha

New Delhi, April 4: The political landscape in Bihar is heating up following the recent liquor tragedy in Motihari. The opposition is relentlessly attacking the government, while the ruling party is defending its actions and promising strict measures.

In a conversation regarding the Motihari liquor incident, JDU state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha stated, “The government is sensitive to this incident. The administration is managing the situation. Such occurrences can happen occasionally, and the opposition should not exaggerate them. They should not present the incident in an inflated manner. The liquor ban law in Bihar will be strictly enforced, and there will be no compromise on this.”

When asked about who will be the new Chief Minister of Bihar and when this decision will be made, Kushwaha replied, “The NDA will decide soon. The people of Bihar voted for Nitish Kumar, so the government will continue under his leadership. Whoever Nitish Kumar wants will become the Chief Minister.”

Responding to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s remark calling Bihar the “poorest state” during an election rally in Kerala, the JDU state president said, “This is an insult to the people of Bihar. Nitish Kumar has worked to restore Bihar’s pride since taking office. Tejashwi Yadav should respect the people of Bihar, as they have excelled in various fields.”

Regarding the questions raised by Tejashwi Yadav about the deaths related to liquor in Motihari, JDU state secretary Saket Singh commented, “I do not wish to discuss the opposition, as they are not even worthy of being called a political party. Everyone knows about the mandate; nothing is hidden. Just look at the recent Rajya Sabha elections; they are not fit to be called a political party. As for the liquor incident, Tejashwi has no basis for his claims. Did he measure the liquor? What did he find? Merely tweeting does not suffice. He needs to speak in front of the media. The administration is doing its job in Motihari, and the medical team is actively investigating.”
