Bihars Floor Test: Upendra Kushwaha Claims Clear Majority for Ruling Party

Patna, April 24: The political landscape in Bihar is set for a significant event today as Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s new government undergoes a floor test. Leaders from various political parties have shared their reactions ahead of this crucial moment. Upendra Kushwaha, head of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), described the floor test as merely a constitutional formality.

Kushwaha emphasized that the numerical strength between the ruling and opposition parties is so pronounced that there is no doubt about the outcome. He clarified that while this process is a formality, it is essential to adhere to it within a democratic framework.

In addition, Kushwaha commented on the political situation in West Bengal, targeting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s demeanor. He suggested that the visible anger on Banerjee’s face is a reflection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rising popularity, which is influencing the electoral atmosphere and voting patterns.

Neeraj Kumar remarked on the high voter turnout in the first phase of elections in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, stating that it signifies the strength of democracy. He noted that the public has responded to those questioning constitutional institutions like the Election Commission through their votes. In some areas of West Bengal, voter turnout exceeded 90%, particularly among women in Tamil Nadu, proving that the electoral process remains transparent and effective.

Meanwhile, JD(U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan asserted that the NDA government, under Samrat Chaudhary’s leadership, will secure a clear and strong majority in the assembly. He expressed confidence that the government will easily win the trust vote.

Responding to comments made by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding India, Rajiv Ranjan stated, “The Indian government has undoubtedly reacted strongly. Trump has continuously made inappropriate and derogatory remarks. His repeated attempts to tarnish America’s image have angered the American public. The U.S. Embassy has attempted damage control, highlighting Trump’s statement that India is its closest friend. Therefore, any future comments from Trump will likely increase global resentment against him.”
