Patna, February 5: Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, has initiated a special campaign across all districts to prohibit the broadcasting of obscene and double-meaning songs. He has instructed law enforcement to file First Information Reports (FIRs) and take strict legal action against such cases.
Chaudhary emphasized that the airing of these songs in public spaces, events, and vehicles will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He stated, “Cheap double-meaning and obscene songs have become a serious issue for society. Broadcasting such songs in public places and vehicles affects the dignity and safety of women, making them feel uncomfortable.”
The Deputy Chief Minister also pointed out that these songs negatively impact children’s thinking. He labeled it a serious social problem that cannot be ignored. The government is fully committed to ensuring the safety of women and children. In light of this, police administration has been directed to take strict action against obscene and double-meaning songs.
Chaudhary announced that special campaigns will be conducted in all districts in relation to the Holi festival. He explained that during these campaigns, songs played in public spaces, vehicles, and events will be identified. Violators will face FIRs under Sections 296, 79, and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code 2023. If necessary, sound systems will be confiscated, and action will also be taken against event organizers and vehicle drivers.
He made it clear that maintaining a healthy and safe environment in society is the government’s responsibility. There will be no compromise on the dignity of women and the future of children.
