Bihars Bharat Tiwari Encounter Case Sparks Massive Mahapanchayat and Calls for Justice

Arrah, June 24: The alleged encounter of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari in Bihar’s Bhojpur district has ignited public outrage. A massive Mahapanchayat and memorial meeting took place on Wednesday at a local temple complex in Bilauti village, drawing a large crowd. Participants rallied in support of Bharat Tiwari, demanding a fair investigation and action against those responsible.

Speakers at the gathering raised concerns about the role of the state government and administration. Prashant Kishor, the architect of Jan Suraj, warned that if justice is not served for Bharat Tiwari, the movement will escalate. Kishor traveled from Patna to meet Tiwari’s family, asserting that no police officer can fire without orders from above. He questioned the source of the directive for police action in this case, calling for a thorough investigation.

Kishor also insisted that the judicial inquiry should encompass not only local police officials but also the Home Department, the DGP, and all responsible authorities involved. He emphasized that merely suspending the concerned officer and DSP does not equate to justice; the public must see justice being served. He issued a 15-day ultimatum to the government to formally announce the judicial inquiry. He warned that if no concrete action is taken within this timeframe, protesters will march to Patna and surround the government.

Speakers affirmed that the struggle for justice for Bharat Bhushan Tiwari and his family will continue, and if necessary, they will also surround Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s residence. Posters proclaiming Bharat Tiwari as a ‘martyr’ have been displayed from Bilauti village to the main roads and highways, demanding justice. Supporters argue that the government must respond to the issues Tiwari raised.

Representatives from Brahmin community organizations from Uttar Pradesh also attended the Mahapanchayat, which has heightened tensions and anger in the area regarding the alleged encounter. Following the Mahapanchayat, the situation has taken a political turn, and political activity surrounding this issue is expected to intensify in the coming days.
