Patna, March 9: In Bihar, the political landscape is shifting as the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has put up posters demanding Chirag Paswan be appointed Chief Minister. Sanjay Paswan, the state’s sugarcane department minister, acknowledged the sentiments of party workers but emphasized that Nitish Kumar remains the Chief Minister for now.
During a media interaction in Patna, when asked about the posters advocating for Chirag Paswan’s elevation, Sanjay Paswan stated, “Currently, Nitish Kumar is the Chief Minister. Any future decisions will be made in the NDA meeting, and we will welcome whatever is decided.”
He further noted that all party workers have their feelings, and those sentiments are respected. “We will honor whatever decision the top leadership makes. Decisions within the coalition must be respected and cannot be dictated by the wishes of one individual,” he added.
Regarding Nishant’s inclusion in the JD(U), he remarked that all parties make decisions for their betterment and elect their leaders. This is a party’s internal decision. Previously, calls for Chirag Paswan to be made Chief Minister have been raised by his supporters, with posters also displayed outside the Bihar BJP office.
The demand for Chirag Paswan’s leadership has intensified, especially after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections, indicating that the Chief Minister’s position in Bihar may soon be vacant. The political temperature has risen, as posters outside the BJP office proclaim, “No riots, no disturbances; Bihar’s CM should only be Chirag.”
