Mumbai, May 18: Leaders from the ruling party in Bihar have reacted to the recent encounter in Patna following the incident in Siwan. They asserted that criminals must either abandon their illegal activities or leave Bihar. Any criminal actions will be met with a firm response.
Minister Santosh Suman spoke to the media, emphasizing that the rule of law prevails in Bihar. He stated that anyone disrupting peace will face consequences. “The weakening of criminals’ morale will lead to greater peace. I believe the government is fulfilling its responsibilities,” he remarked.
He added, “Criminals do not respect law and order. They even fire at police officers. In such cases, a counter-response is inevitable. We believe that such actions will serve as a lesson for criminals.”
Bihar BJP President Sanjay Sarawagi commented, “The police in Bihar have been given a free hand. Criminals will not be spared under any circumstances. If a crime occurs, the police have complete authority to act.”
LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Arun Bharti also weighed in on the Patna encounter, stating, “If criminals engage in gunfire instead of surrendering to the police, officers will remain in attack mode. Therefore, the police are taking appropriate legal action.”
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar addressed the Patna encounter, saying, “The Chief Minister has instructed the police to take action against criminals. If anyone attacks the police during this process, they will receive a response. I want to clarify that people should not be misled. We support legal encounters. Those who attack the police or fall victim to police fire should understand that they will not receive benefits like disability pensions.”
It is noteworthy that following an incident where a teacher was shot in Patna, police arrested two suspects after the encounter. In Siwan, police also conducted an encounter, resulting in one criminal being apprehended in an injured state.
