
Gopalganj, February 23: A cricket match in Gopalganj, Bihar, escalated into violence when a young man was seriously injured in a stabbing incident. He has been referred to Gorakhpur Medical College for treatment. In response to the rising tension in the village, police forces have been deployed.
The incident occurred in the Ramapur Brahmasthan village, located in the Kateya police station area. The injured youth has been identified as Kamlesh Kushwaha from Ramapur village. Reports indicate that a dispute arose among several youths during the cricket game, leading to the stabbing of Kamlesh Kushwaha, who sustained severe injuries.
According to sources, the assailants chased Kamlesh and stabbed him, causing him to lose consciousness. Panic ensued in the area, and with the help of local residents, he was rushed to the emergency ward of the sadar hospital. Due to the severity of his condition, doctors referred him to Gorakhpur Medical College for advanced treatment.
The incident has left Kamlesh’s family in distress, with relatives reportedly in tears. They have demanded strict action from the police against the attackers.
Following the stabbing, Hathua SDPO Anand Mohan Gupta arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation with the assistance of the forensic science laboratory (FSL) team. The police acted swiftly, arresting two individuals, Noor Alam and Hanan Miyan, involved in the attack.
SDPO Anand Mohan Gupta confirmed that the stabbing incident occurred near Ramapur Brahmasthan in the Panchdevri block under the Kateya police station. The FSL team has conducted an investigation at the site, and further actions are underway.
