
Patna, May 7: Bihar’s Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary expanded his cabinet during a grand ceremony at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Thursday. In the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the Governor administered the oath of office to 32 new ministers.
The cabinet expansion aims to satisfy all NDA allies. It includes 15 ministers from the BJP, 13 from JDU, two from LJP (Ram Vilas), and one each from Hindustani Awam Morcha and Rashtriya Lok Morcha. The cabinet features a mix of seasoned politicians and newcomers, showcasing a balance of experience and youthful energy.
Notably, the entry of Nishant Kumar, the son of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, garnered significant attention. This expansion follows a formula ensuring key positions for BJP, JDU, and allied parties.
Nishant Kumar is among the first-time ministers, while experienced leaders like Dilip Jaiswal, Vijay Kumar Sinha, Ramkripal Yadav, Pramod Chandravanshi, and Lakhemdar Paswan have also been included. Other new members include Sanjay Singh Tiger, Rama Nishad, Nitish Mishra, Kedar Gupta, Mithilesh Tiwari, Ramchandra Prasad, Nand Kishore Ram, Shailendra Kumar, Arun Shankar Prasad, and Shreyasi Singh.
From JDU, first-time minister Nishant Kumar joins the cabinet alongside Dr. Shweta Gupta and Bulo Mandal, who have also gained the leadership’s trust. Additionally, Shravan Kumar, Madan Sahni, Lesi Singh, Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, Damodar Rawat, Sunil Kumar, Sheila Mandal, Ratnesh Sada, Jama Khan, and Ashok Chaudhary have been given another opportunity.
Regarding other NDA allies, ministers Sanjay Singh and Sanjay Paswan were appointed from Union Minister Chirag Paswan’s LJP (Ram Vilas), while Santosh Suman from Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party ‘HAM’ and Deepak Prakash from Upendra Kushwaha’s RLM were also included in the cabinet.
