Bihar BDO Anand Kumar Vibhuti Faces Probe for Disproportionate Assets Amid Raids

Darbhanga, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police has initiated an investigation against Anand Kumar Vibhuti, the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Bahadurpur in Darbhanga district, for allegedly acquiring assets disproportionate to his known income. A First Information Report (FIR) was filed, leading to simultaneous raids at five locations linked to him on Tuesday.

According to a press release from the EOU, the case against Vibhuti emerged after verifying information from reliable sources. Preliminary evidence suggests he has amassed assets worth ₹1,71,84,000, which is approximately 121.87% higher than his declared income.

On Tuesday morning, teams led by police deputy superintendents began coordinated searches at Vibhuti’s properties. The locations included his ancestral home in Lalbegiya, East Champaran, a flat at Sai Vihar Apartment, Ashopur in Danapur, his office and government residence in Bahadurpur, and a private residence on Saraswati Nagar Road No. 1 in Muzaffarpur.

The EOU teams are currently examining documents, property-related papers, and other potential evidence at these sites. Officials have stated that further details will be shared once the searches are complete. The actions taken are based on the initial evidence gathered during the verification process regarding the disproportionate assets case.
