Patna, Mar 15 : The pre-lunch session of Bihar Assembly was adjourned till 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday without taking up the enlisted business following affray caused by the entire opposition demanding an apology from the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his yesterday’s enraged outburst at the speaker of the state assembly Vijay Kumar Sinha on the floor of the house. Both Nitish Kumar and Vijay Kumar Sinha did not turn up at the house on Tuesday. As soon as the house assembled for the day, the opposition members wearing black badges demanded from the Presiding officer Prem Kumar who was in the Chair in absence of the speaker, to ask the Speaker to attend the House and initiate the proceedings. The RJD members created noise over the absence of the speaker and on yesterday’s angry outburst of the chief minister at Sinha. Chief whip of RJD Lalit Yadav strongly objected to yesterday’s comment of the chief minister and insisted on an apology from the government for conduct. He said that the chief minister himself should apologize. Lalit Yadav said that the proceedings should be taken up only after the speaker turns up to the house. To this, the parliamentary affairs minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhari termed the demands of the opposition as unjustified saying that the chief minister with all humility had requested the Speaker to run the house as per the laid rules and regulations. Lalit Yadav said that the chief minister should apologize before the speaker for his yesterday’s outburst. RJD member Awadh Bihari Chaudhari, Bhai Virendra and other members of the opposition said that the democracy was gagged and demanded a discussion on yesterday’s incident. The parliamentary affairs minister however said that the opposition was unnecessarily dragging the matter. The presiding officer tried to bring the house in order but in vain following which he adjourned the house till lunch without taking up any business. RS RN
