Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Mumbai Indians (MI), he took 4 wickets for just 23 runs, bringing his total to 21 wickets in 11 matches this season.
This remarkable achievement places Bhuvneshwar jointly second among bowlers who have reached the 20-wicket milestone in IPL seasons. He previously accomplished this feat in 2014, 2016, and 2017. With this performance, he has now matched the records of Lasith Malinga (2011, 2012, 2013, 2015) and Jasprit Bumrah (2017, 2020, 2021, 2024).
Leading the list of players with the most 20-wicket seasons is Yuzvendra Chahal, who achieved this in 2015, 2016, 2020, 2022, and 2023.
