New Delhi, August 9: BJP MP Bhola Singh has responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks during a student rally in Prayagraj. Singh emphasized that Gandhi should have faith in the youth of the nation. He suggested that, just as Gandhi visited Prayagraj, he should also express solidarity with the students protesting against paper leaks in Jharkhand.
In an interview from New Delhi, Singh pointed out that Rahul Gandhi seems to have forgotten that during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was the youth of India who worked tirelessly to develop vaccines to protect the public. He reiterated that the party and the government have complete confidence in the youth of India.
Singh remarked that today’s youth are showcasing their talents wherever they find opportunities. He noted that Indian youth are also making the country proud on international sports platforms, winning medals in various competitions.
Targeting Rahul Gandhi, Singh stated that the Congress party may lack trust in the youth, viewing every issue through a political lens. He questioned why Gandhi visited Prayagraj but not Jharkhand, asking if he has no empathy for the protesting students there.
Referencing the Quit India Movement, Singh highlighted the significance of August 8 and 9 in Indian history. He recalled that on August 8, Mahatma Gandhi called for the ‘Quit India’ movement against British rule, leading to the arrest of many Congress leaders.
He explained that during that time, despite leaders being imprisoned, the country demanded freedom. People from all walks of life, including youth, women, farmers, and laborers, participated in the struggle for independence.
Singh stated that on August 9, 1942, a wave of support for the Quit India Movement spread across the nation. He attributed India’s eventual freedom to the collective struggle of its citizens.
In response to former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s statements, Singh accused some political parties of trying to exploit student protests for political gain. He asserted that opposition parties lack substantial issues, leading them to politicize student demonstrations.
He mentioned that in the NEET paper leak case, the central government conducted a re-examination and announced the results, ensuring that no student faced losses. Singh affirmed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the central government stands with all communities and is always ready for discussions on various issues.
He concluded by stating that BJP leaders and workers are consistently engaging with the public, gathering feedback on government initiatives. Singh criticized opposition parties for misleading the public, while the BJP and its government focus on understanding and resolving people’s problems.
