Lucknow, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : As the festive season approaches, residents of Uttar Pradesh can look forward to a new transportation option. Bharat Taxi is set to expand its services, allowing users to book rides easily via their mobile phones. This initiative will cater to various needs, whether it’s visiting temples during Navratri or shopping during Diwali.
Following successful operations in cities like Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Kanpur, and Prayagraj, Bharat Taxi is now gearing up to launch services in 12 additional cities. Notable among these are Ayodhya, Agra, and Meerut, with preparations already underway to connect these areas ahead of the Navratri festival.
The onboarding process for drivers and vehicle registration has commenced, ensuring that the app-based taxi service reaches both major urban centers and smaller towns across the state. The next phase will include cities like Mathura, Firozabad, Muzaffarnagar, Hapur, Sitapur, Hathras, Etawah, Mirzapur, and Raebareli, with efforts to link drivers and vehicles to the platform accelerating.
Particular attention is being paid to religious and tourist destinations, which attract large numbers of visitors. Cities like Ayodhya and Mathura are expected to see significant traffic, while Agra remains a popular spot for tourists from around the globe. With the recent expansion into Varanasi and Prayagraj, Bharat Taxi aims to incorporate more key cities into its network.
In addition to traditional taxis, the service will also include two-wheeler and three-wheeler drivers, providing travelers with more options for short-distance travel. This initiative will create a new digital platform for young drivers operating bikes, autos, and taxis, connecting them directly with passengers.
Currently, over 50,000 drivers are associated with Bharat Taxi. As the service expands into new cities, this number is expected to grow. Cooperation Minister J.P.S. Rathore emphasized the importance of establishing a robust network in response to the increased passenger demand at markets, religious sites, and transport hubs during the busy festival periods.
With plans to connect 12 more cities to the Bharat Taxi network within a month, the service aims to significantly enhance local transportation options in Uttar Pradesh. Residents can soon enjoy the convenience of this new travel service as it rolls out across the state.
