Directed by Ramesh Sippy, the song took ten days to shoot, requiring the cast to remain covered in colors to maintain continuity.
To create the Holi atmosphere on set, the filmmakers sourced nearly 100 tons of gulal from various parts of the country. In an interview, Ramesh Sippy revealed that the shooting of the Holi sequence involved a significant amount of preparation. The entire filming lasted ten days, during which the actors were covered in colors without makeup, simply applying gulal to their faces. This dedication resulted in the creation of an iconic song.
