BCCI Central Contract 2024-25 Announced: Rohit, Virat, Bumrah, Jadeja in A+ Grade; Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan Reinstated

New Delhi, April 21 The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced its Central Contract List for the 2024–25 season, bringing significant updates for Indian cricket fans. The list includes 34 players, with top performers like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja retained in the A+ category, despite some having stepped away from the T20 format.

BCCI Contract 2024–25: Four Players in Elite A+ Grade

The BCCI has categorized contracted players into four grades: A+, A, B, and C. The A+ category—the highest bracket—includes:

1. Rohit Sharma

2. Virat Kohli

3. Jasprit Bumrah

4. Ravindra Jadeja

While Rohit, Virat, and Jadeja have retired from T20 Internationals, their consistent contributions in other formats and leadership roles have secured them spots in the topmost tier. Jasprit Bumrah is currently the only A+ grade player active across all three formats.

Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan Make a Comeback

Two notable additions this year are Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan, both of whom were omitted in the previous cycle. Their return to the contract list indicates their renewed importance in India’s future plans across formats.

Previous Contracts and Notable Omissions

Last year, 30 players were contracted. This year, the BCCI has added four new names in Grade C. Unlike last year, no separate bowling-specific contracts were awarded in this cycle.

The board emphasized performance across all formats and international availability as key criteria. Players included have participated in Tests, ODIs, or T20Is for India within the last performance window.
