Dhaka, 23 August (Kiran News): The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Friday announced its 16-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, scheduled to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 9 to 28 September. Prior to the tournament, the same squad will also feature in a three-match T20I series against the Netherlands.

Liton Das Named Captain
Wicketkeeper-batter Liton Das will lead the side. He recently guided Bangladesh to historic T20 series wins against Sri Lanka and Pakistan. In a notable return, experienced keeper-batter Nurul Hasan has been recalled to the squad.

Key Omissions
Senior all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz and top-order batter Najmul Hossain Shanto have been left out of the main squad. Soumya Sarkar has been named among the standby players along with Miraz, Tanvir Islam and Hasan Mahmud.
Bangladesh’s Group in Asia Cup 2025
Bangladesh have been placed in Group B alongside Afghanistan, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka. Group A features India, Pakistan, Oman, and hosts UAE.
