Silhat, May 18: Bangladesh has set Pakistan a daunting target of 437 runs in the ongoing second Test match at Silhat International Cricket Stadium. By the end of the third day, the Pakistani team faced two overs without scoring any runs.

After losing the toss, Bangladesh batted first and was bowled out for just 278 runs. The standout performance came from Liton Das, who scored 126 runs, hitting 2 sixes and 16 fours. Captain Najmul Hossain contributed 29 runs. For Pakistan, Khurram Shehzad took the most wickets, claiming 4, while Mohammad Abbas secured 3. Hasan Ali and Sajid Khan took 2 and 1 wicket, respectively.

In response, Pakistan managed only 232 runs in their first innings, with Babar Azam top-scoring at 68 runs. Sajid Khan added 38 runs, while captain Shan Masood and Salman Agha each scored 21. Naheed Rana and Taijul Islam took 3 wickets each, while Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan claimed 2 wickets each.

With a first-innings lead of 46 runs, Bangladesh scored 390 runs in their second innings, setting Pakistan a significant target of 437 runs. Mustafizur Rahman was the star of the second innings, scoring 137 runs with 13 boundaries. Mahmudul Hasan Joy contributed 52 runs with 10 fours, and Liton Das added 69 runs. The first match of the Test series was played in Dhaka, where Bangladesh won by 104 runs, taking a 1-0 lead in the series. The final match will be decisive for both teams.

In the closing moments of the third day, Pakistan sent openers Azaan Awais and Abdullah Fazal to the crease. Both faced 6 balls but could not open their accounts.
