Varanasi, January 27: Ramanand Dubey, the chief priest of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, emphasised the unique significance of Kashi as a place where the entire world can be spiritually experienced. He stated that Kashi is the only place globally where one can witness the world’s essence, attracting visitors from all corners of the globe.
In a conversation highlighting Kashi’s glory, Dubey said the city’s existence is deeply connected to the Ganges and Lord Vishwanath. Devotees come here to seek the blessings of Maa Ganga and Shri Kashi Vishwanath.
He noted that while many visitors come for sightseeing, some stay on, which he attributed to the good deeds from past lives. He added that the temple welcomes everyone without discrimination, but only those who are imbued with proper values and cultural rites are worthy of visiting the temple. Those indifferent to such traditions should refrain from visiting.
Addressing the issue of flowers being offered from other religions, Dubey called for strict rules to prohibit their entry into the temple. He stressed the importance of considering the sanctity of the flowers presented to the deity. Reflecting on the significance of offerings, he questioned the intentions behind the flowers brought by others, including the background and mindset of those selling them.
Dubey explained that traditionally, followers of Sanatan Dharma did not allow entry of people from other religions into their temples. He reaffirmed that the temple’s purity should not be compromised.
He further described that according to Sanatan Vedic Dharma, as established by ancient sages, there are sixteen sacraments (sanskaar) from conception to old age. Those not aligned with these sacraments do not have the right to enter the temple premises.
