‘Bachchan Pandey’ manages to keep afloat amid ‘The Kashmir Files’ wave

Mumbai, March 20 : Ever since the release of director Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ on March 11, it would seem that every other Bollywood release is getting hit by its wave and struggling to barely stay afloat. On only its second day, Akshay Kumar’s latest ‘Bachchan Pandey’ has become the newest target of the unexpected TKF tide as its earnings have simmered. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted “#BachchhanPaandey gets hit by the unprecedented #TKF wave across the country… Mass circuits are steady, but plexes remain low on Day 2… Needs to improve its performance on Day 3… Fri 13.25 cr, Sat 12 cr. Total: ₹ 25.25 cr. #India biz.” The movie had initially managed to give a surprisingly good performance, managing to gross over Rs.13.25 crores on its first day, however by its second day of the weekend, its earnings began dropping to Rs.12.25 crores. Overall however, amid the whole TKF wave that has hit the country, the movie has a promising future. As of now the movie has earned a decent Rs.25 crores and while a Rs 50 crore earn by the next week seems unlikely, the movie may just earn under Rs 40 crores in a win-win situation for it. The Farhad Samji directorial stars Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Kirti Sanon, Ritesh Deshmukh, Pankaj Tripathi, Janqueline Fernandez, Sanjay Mishra, and Abhimanyu Singh. ANV RN
