Chamoli, February 25: The ambitious Ayushman Bharat initiative by the central government is rapidly benefiting the residents of Chamoli, a remote district in Uttarakhand. Under the Ayushman Bharat Vaya Vandana Yojana, over 500 eligible beneficiaries have received their Ayushman and Vandana cards, enabling them to access free treatment at designated hospitals.

Beneficiary Awal Singh Rawat shared his experience, stating that he had to be hospitalized for treatment, but his entire medical care was covered at no cost due to the Ayushman card. He expressed that previously, seeking treatment outside was challenging and costly, but this government scheme has provided significant relief.

Similarly, Bhim Singh mentioned that he had been suffering from health issues for a long time and was advised to get admitted for treatment. Thanks to the Ayushman card, he is receiving all necessary tests and treatments for free. He urged others to obtain their Ayushman cards to benefit from the scheme.

Access to healthcare in hilly and remote areas has long been a significant challenge. Patients often struggle to receive timely treatment due to the distance of hospitals, transportation difficulties, and financial constraints. However, the Ayushman Bharat Vaya Vandana Yojana has alleviated many of these issues. The cards issued under this scheme provide senior citizens and other eligible beneficiaries with access to hospitalization, tests, and treatments without any financial burden.

Health department teams are visiting villages to register eligible beneficiaries, ensuring that no one in need is left out of the scheme. Priority is given to elderly individuals living in remote areas when issuing cards.

The Ayushman Bharat Vaya Vandana Yojana not only offers relief to economically weaker families but also aligns with the government’s goal of delivering quality healthcare services to the most marginalized individuals.
