ASUS Launches ROG XREAL R1 Gaming Glasses with 171-inch Virtual Display

ASUS Republic of Gamers has unveiled the ROG XREAL R1 gaming glasses, offering gamers a large virtual screen experience without the need for a bulky monitor. These augmented reality (AR) glasses feature the world’s first 240Hz micro-OLED Full HD panel, delivering sharp visuals and smooth gameplay on PCs, consoles, and handheld devices such as the ROG Ally.

Revealed at CES 2026, the ROG XREAL R1 combines a high-refresh-rate 240Hz display with a 57-degree field of view. From about four meters away, the glasses create a virtual screen size equivalent to an impressive 171-inch display, providing an immersive big-screen gaming experience from any location.

Weighing just 91 grams, the R1 glasses are designed for comfort during extended gaming sessions. They include Bose-tuned audio technology to produce rich 3D sound without the need for additional headphones. The device connects via an included ROG Control Dock, which supports DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, and multiple USB-C ports, enabling compatibility with a wide range of gaming platforms.

The glasses support easy switching between connected devices and can be used in plug-and-play mode with USB-C-enabled gadgets, effectively turning smaller screens into expansive virtual displays. While ASUS has not announced official pricing, the ROG XREAL R1 is expected to launch in the first half of 2026.
