Guwahati, May 12: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha stated on Monday that Assam is experiencing multifaceted development under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Saha will attend the swearing-in ceremony for Sarma and other ministers on Tuesday, alongside Tripura’s BJP president and Rajya Sabha member Rajiv Bhattacharya.
Speaking to the media after arriving in Guwahati, Saha described the BJP’s performance in Assam as a significant victory.
He highlighted the party’s impressive showing in West Bengal, noting that they have ousted the Trinamool Congress from power. He expressed confidence that the BJP will gradually gain power in more regions and phases.
Saha emphasized that under Sarma’s leadership, Assam is progressing towards comprehensive development, with the BJP government working for the welfare of all communities in the state.
In a social media post, Saha expressed excitement about attending Sarma’s swearing-in ceremony and witnessing the historic launch of BJP 3.0 in Assam.
He further stated that development, progress, and effective governance are ongoing. Assam is moving forward with renewed energy, development, and people-centric governance.
On Sunday, Assam Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya appointed BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma as the Chief Minister, just hours after he was elected as the leader of the BJP legislative party and the NDA alliance in Assam.
Senior BJP leader and Union Minister JP Nadda, along with Haryana Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, participated in the BJP legislative party meeting in Guwahati as central observers appointed by the party leadership.
Following the meeting, Nadda announced Sarma’s designation as the leader of the NDA legislative party.
