
Guwahati, May 5: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal welcomed the impressive performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Assam Assembly elections. He described this mandate as a strong endorsement of development-oriented governance and people-centric leadership.
The MP from Dibrugarh congratulated Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for the coalition’s remarkable victory and expressed gratitude to the people of Assam for granting a historic mandate to the BJP.
Sonowal stated, “Assam has made its decision clear. I wholeheartedly congratulate Himanta Biswa Sarma. Your relentless energy and hard work have played a crucial role in ensuring that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message of development reaches every corner of the state. Our collective resolve for a secure and self-reliant Assam will only strengthen in the coming days.”
He noted that this victory reflects the deep trust of the people in the ‘double-engine government’ and its continuous focus on inclusive development, infrastructure growth, and welfare schemes. This mandate will accelerate the state’s development further.
Sonowal added, “The people of Assam have once again chosen stability, progress, and strong governance. This mandate is not just a victory; it is also a responsibility to serve with even greater commitment and dedication.”
He assured that the NDA government will continue to work towards strengthening peace, prosperity, and opportunities throughout the state. The government will maintain its focus on economic growth, youth empowerment, infrastructure expansion, and social harmony.
The senior BJP leader also praised the contributions of party workers, stating that their grassroots activism helped transform the government’s efforts into a robust electoral mandate.
