Assams Goalpara District Schools Ban Non-Vegetarian Tiffins Effective Immediately

Guwahati, June 8: A significant directive has been issued for schools in Assam’s Goalpara district. The District School Inspector’s office has mandated that students are prohibited from bringing any non-vegetarian food for their tiffins. This order is effective immediately.

According to the directive, only vegetarian food is permitted on school premises. However, students are allowed to bring and consume eggs in their tiffins. The administration states that this decision aims to maintain a disciplined, harmonious, and inclusive environment in schools.

All principals and heads of educational institutions in Goalpara district have been instructed to inform students, parents, teachers, and staff about this order and ensure strict compliance.

Additionally, the administration has noted that some students leave the school premises without permission during breaks or tiffin times. Consequently, no student will be allowed to exit the school grounds during these periods.

The order, issued by Khirus Misong, the School Inspector and District Primary Education Officer of Goalpara, clearly states that violations of these directives will be taken seriously, and necessary actions may be enforced.

This order was released on June 6 and copies have been sent to the Director of Secondary Education, Director of Primary Education, the Goalpara District Commissioner, Sub-School Inspectors, all Block Elementary Education Officers, and all government and recognized schools in the district.
