Assams Chief Minister Promises Rapid Development Following NDA Victory

Guwahati, May 15: Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Friday that the BJP-led NDA has secured a significant mandate in the assembly elections. He emphasized that the state will now experience accelerated development.

Speaking to reporters, Sarma stated that the decisive mandate from the people has heightened the government’s responsibility towards the citizens of Assam.

“The more support we receive from the people, the greater our responsibility will be. Over the past five years, we have worked with dedication, but now we will strive even harder to boost Assam’s development,” he said.

The NDA, under BJP leadership, achieved a remarkable victory in the assembly elections, maintaining power in the northeastern state by defeating opposition parties.

Sarma mentioned that the government’s future roadmap will be broader and more ambitious compared to the commitments made during the 2021 assembly elections, which were held under the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“When we prepared our election manifesto in 2021, the COVID crisis loomed over us. Due to that situation, many of our commitments were limited. This time, we are developing a comprehensive approach for Assam’s development,” he explained.

He further noted that after implementing several welfare schemes, infrastructure projects, and investment initiatives in recent years, the government now possesses greater administrative experience and confidence.

Sarma stressed that the BJP-led coalition will focus on translating its promises into tangible results, ensuring that development reaches every segment of society.

“We have promised to deliver more for the people compared to the previous term, and we are confident that we will implement these commitments at the grassroots level,” he asserted.

The Chief Minister also highlighted achievements in areas such as roads, healthcare, education, industrial investment, and connectivity, claiming that rapid changes have occurred in Assam under the current government.
