Guwahati, April 9: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has leveled serious accusations against the Congress party, claiming that its leaders have become so desperate that they are pushing their own allies toward imprisonment.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Sarma stated, “Congress leaders are so desperate today that they are driving Pawan Khera towards jail with their own actions. Once again, they have released another set of completely fake documents, which our team has already exposed. This is no longer politics; it is sheer deception.”
Sarma further emphasized, “The Congress ecosystem has lost its sense of responsibility. In just a few hours, the people of Assam will respond decisively, and the Congress leadership will have to pay the price for this deception.”
This sharp attack by Himanta Biswa Sarma is focused on Congress leader Pawan Khera. Sarma alleged that Congress is repeatedly attempting to mislead the public by issuing fake documents. He claimed that the Assam government’s team has already unveiled these fraudulent documents.
This controversy has emerged just before the Assam Assembly elections in 2026. Voting is set to take place tomorrow in Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry, intensifying the exchange of accusations between the two major parties.
Sarma accused Congress of ‘deception,’ stating that the party has crossed the boundaries of political ethics. He urged the people of Assam to give a fitting reply to Congress’s alleged false propaganda.
As of now, there has been no official response from Congress regarding this post. However, some party leaders have previously accused the Assam government of corruption and anti-people policies.
