Kolkata, April 26: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a roadshow in support of BJP candidate Sudipta Das. The event attracted numerous party workers and supporters. The roadshow commenced from the Noapara police station and concluded at the Kanchrapara Bag Mor.
CM Sarma stated that Prime Minister Modi has the right to visit any place, including Ganga, Yamuna, and Brahmaputra. He emphasized that there should be no objections from the opposition. “The world has witnessed the increased tourism potential of Bengal. I welcome the Prime Minister to Assam with open arms. Didi (Mamata Banerjee), whatever is good for Bengal, you oppose it,” he remarked.
He added that when the Prime Minister enjoyed Jhalmuri, the entire nation became enamored with it. He questioned whether this was beneficial for Bengal and whether it would create jobs. “Mamata Didi is not just opposing the Prime Minister; she is opposing Bengal,” he asserted.
Sarma noted that elections in Assam, once chaotic, are now celebrated as festivals. He believes the second phase of elections in Bengal will also be festive, contributing to the high voter turnout in the first phase. “There was no chaos; people voted enthusiastically, which has doubled the excitement for the second phase,” he explained.
The Chief Minister confidently declared that the BJP will form the government in Bengal, securing over 200 seats. On April 23, he addressed a public meeting in the Bongagao constituency of North 24 Parganas, where he highlighted the unwavering support of the Matua community for the BJP. He also commented on dietary preferences, stating that he would consume more meat than Mamata Banerjee.
