Daltonganj, Mar 8 : A team of the Anti Corruption Bureau on Tuesday arrested an Assistant Sub Inspector posted in Padwa Police Station of Palamu district in Jharkhand while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000. The arrested Police Officer has been identified as Munna Lal Jamuda. The man had sought bribe from a person for sending the case diary to the court. ACB sources said that a complaint against the police officer was registered by one Munna Prasad of Lamipatra-Jhari village who claimed that he had requested the police officer to send the case dairy so he could apply for interim bail in a case related to coal theft. The police officer demanded a bribe of Rs 15,000 out of which he said that Rs 5,000 should be given to him on an immediate basis. However, since the complainant did not wish to pay the bribe, he reported the incident to the ACB. Post the verification of the complaint a trap was set and the police officer was nabbed from police station premises as soon as money exchanged hands. XC-AK RN
