Itanagar, May 8: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced on Thursday the enhancement of the Creative Economy Cell under the Chief Minister’s Office. This initiative aims to provide institutional support to the state’s emerging creative sector.
The Chief Minister stated that this cell will act as a bridge between local talent and the global industry by establishing industry connections, offering guidance opportunities, and paving the way for career advancement.
In a significant step towards institutionalizing the state’s creative sector, Khandu chaired a high-level review meeting with organizers of major state events on Thursday.
He proposed transforming independent competitions into a “structured talent development platform,” ensuring that the youth of the state can advance towards sustainable professional careers in the global entertainment industry.
The meeting focused on six major platforms, including Miss, Mr. and Mrs. Arunachal, Arunachal Got Talent, Arunachal Super Dance, and Arunachal Idol.
Khandu emphasized that the goal is to develop each event into a structured talent development platform rather than just an independent competition. He stressed that each platform should have a clear roadmap to guide participants towards professional opportunities in music, fashion, media, and performing arts.
He further stated, “We are not just looking for artists; we are building careers.”
In a significant revelation regarding industry expansion, the Chief Minister mentioned that the state is looking towards digital giants to empower local voices. He noted that strategic collaborations with global platforms like Spotify are being considered to guide emerging singers and help them reach wider audiences.
Khandu emphasized the desire for the world to understand and appreciate the indigenous music, art, and cultural expressions of Arunachal Pradesh.
