Arshdeep Singh Thrives on Reverse Swing in Death Overs as India Defeats West Indies
Arshdeep Singh shines with three wickets as India beats West Indies in the third T20I, taking a 2-1 series lead.

Indore, October 12 (Daily Kiran) : India secured a thrilling 14-run victory over West Indies in the third T20 International at Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday. Arshdeep Singh played a pivotal role in the match, taking three wickets and helping India take a 2-1 lead in the five-match T20 series.
Following the match, Arshdeep expressed his enjoyment of bowling with reverse swing during the death overs. He was named ‘Player of the Match’ for his impressive figures of 3 wickets for 44 runs. Arshdeep struck early by bowling out the in-form Shai Hope in the second over and later dismissed Sherfane Rutherford for just 32 runs. He also claimed the wicket of Keemo Paul.
In a post-match interview, Arshdeep shared, “It was a great experience. The ball was reversing a bit, and bowling with reverse swing in the death overs is always fun.” When asked how the team copes on days when wickets are hard to come by, he noted, “There’s no specific leader or senior in the team. The atmosphere is very good and stress-free. Whenever someone has a bad day, we encourage them and say it’s alright.”
The fast bowler further elaborated on the challenges of international cricket, stating, “As an international cricketer, you know that good and bad days come. You have to bounce back and perform well. Personally, I love it when batsmen attack you at every stage because that tests your skills and mental toughness.”
Arshdeep also discussed their preparation for changing conditions. He mentioned, “The main focus is to come in early and bowl a few deliveries with both the new and old ball, adapting to the conditions. The schedule is always busy, and the team that adapts quickly tends to win.”
In the match, India batted first, scoring 223 runs before being all out. West Indies, in response, managed to score 209 runs, losing 7 wickets in their 20 overs.
The two teams will face off again in the fourth match on Wednesday at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The series will conclude with the final match on October 17 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
