Mumbai, May 13: In a shocking incident in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, an armed robbery occurred late Tuesday night involving a liquor salesman and his companion. The duo was attacked by assailants while returning home after closing the liquor store. The robbers first assaulted them and then, at gunpoint, stole approximately sixty thousand rupees. When the victims resisted, the assailants opened fire, injuring one of the young men. This incident has created a climate of fear in the area.
According to reports, the salesman, Dinesh, was returning home on a motorcycle with his friend Sujit after closing the local liquor shop in Semarhan village, located in the Imaliya Sultanpur police jurisdiction. Sujit works at a nearby canteen. They left the store around 10:15 PM. As they approached the village of Padrakha, a group of armed men standing by the roadside ambushed them.

The assailants then proceeded to beat them and snatch the cash they had on them. When Dinesh and Sujit attempted to fight back, the robbers fired a shot that grazed Sujit’s leg. The attackers made off with around forty to fifty thousand rupees.
Following the incident, both injured men immediately contacted the police by dialing 112. Local authorities arrived promptly at the scene and transported the victims to the community health center in Ailiya for treatment. Medical staff provided initial care, but due to the severity of Sujit’s injuries, he was referred to the district hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
