AP: 100 more Rythu Bazaars to come up soon: Kannababu

Kakinada, March 5 : Andhra Pradesh Minister for agriculture, cooperation and marketing Kurasala Kannababu said that 100 more new Rythu bazaars would come up in the state shortly in addition to 100 already functioning, here on Saturday. Addressing a function after laying foundation stones for the construction of Rythu bazaar at a cost of Rs 70 lakhs and drinking water pipelines at a cost of Rs 20 lakhs in Karapa village near here on Saturday, he said the CM had laid the foundation stones for 50 new Rythu Bazaars and the remaining are under tenders finalization process. In East Godavari district, he said,15 more new Rythu Bazaars would be opened in addition to the existing 18 Rythu Bazaars. The very aim in opening Rythu Bazaars was to ensure that both the farmer and the consumers would derive benefit by eliminating the middlemen. The fresh and quality vegetables from fields will directly reach the consumers through the Rythu bazaars’ he added. Referring to market yards and primary cooperative societies, the Minister said that they also would be modernized on the lines of schools and hospitals . He said in Karapa mandal all primary cooperative societies were provided with basic infrastructure such as lockers, furniture as a part of the modernization programme. The Minister further claimed that there was no shortage of water for irrigation for the second crop and water is being supplied to the entire approved ayacut by making judicious use of available water from all resources and the crop is expected to come to hand by April end. Joint director marketing Sudhakar, agriculture marketing committee chairman Karnasula Ramanjaneyulu, ZPTC member Subbarao, MPDO Swa a, Tahasildar P Srinivas, Sarpanch Asha Jyothi were among those attended.
