
Mumbai, June 6: Music composer and singer Anu Malik has disclosed which of his songs was favored by the late legendary actor Dharmendra.
In a special interview, Anu Malik shared that Bollywood’s ‘He-Man’ loved his song “Pal Pal Na Maane Tinku Jiya” from the film “Yamla Pagla Deewana.”
The composer further mentioned his close relationship with the Deol family, especially with Sunny Deol. He stated, “My bond with Dharm Ji (Dharmendra) has always been filled with warmth. I have also been very close to Sunny (Deol). I composed music for his second film, ‘Sohni Mahiwal’.”
Recalling fond memories, the composer said, “Dharm Ji really enjoyed my music. I once created a fun song, ‘Pal Pal Na Maane Tinku Jiya,’ and Dharm Ji, who is a very cheerful person, loved it. He also appreciated my melodious songs. He considered me a family member, so we often met.”
Anu Malik expressed his admiration, saying, “Since we grew up watching and loving his songs, I have always held him in high regard. I would often ask him how a particular song was shot, but he would just smile and look at me.”
He also spoke about his relationship with veteran actress Hema Malini and his experiences working with her. Anu Malik mentioned, “My first connection with Hema Ji was in the film ‘Maarg.’ Then we collaborated on ‘Aawargi,’ which she produced. She has been a great source of inspiration. When I composed songs, she would consistently provide feedback. When her film ‘Ek Chadar Maili Si’ released, she loved my music. No one can be more beautiful than Hema Malini.”
