Annual Chongqing Forum Meeting to Kick Off in Beijing on March 25, 2026

Beijing, February 26: The annual meeting of the Chongqing Forum for 2026 will be held in China’s capital, Beijing, from March 25 to March 29, following approval from the State Council of China.

This year’s meeting is jointly organized by several key Chinese institutions, including the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the Beijing municipal government.

The Chongqing Forum serves as a national-level platform for global scientific and technological innovation exchange and cooperation in China. Established in 2007, its permanent theme is “Innovation and Development.” The forum aims to promote international consultations on cutting-edge technologies and trends in future industrial development. It facilitates discussions on global innovation rules and governance, shares innovative ideas and development concepts, and collectively enhances technological innovation to promote prosperity and development worldwide.

The theme for the 2026 Chongqing Forum annual meeting will focus on the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation. The agenda includes five main components: an opening ceremony and plenary session, branch forums, a conference to showcase major achievements, the Chongqing International Technology Trade Conference, and the finals of the Chongqing International Advanced Technology Competition.
