Mumbai, April 9: Popular Bhojpuri actress Anjana Singh is set to showcase her boxing skills in her upcoming film ‘Lady Boxer.’ In this film, she will portray a strong and courageous female boxer.
On Thursday, Anjana shared a behind-the-scenes video from the film’s shoot. The video features her having fun with her entire team. Dressed in a traditional saree and wearing boxing gloves, Anjana is seen playfully boxing with her teammates, who are also sporting gloves and engaging in light-hearted sparring.
Anjana referred to her team as family, stating, “Love, laughter, loyalty, that’s all we need. Friends are like family.”
The actress has carved a niche for herself in the Bhojpuri film industry, having starred in numerous hit films. While she typically plays the role of a daughter-in-law in family dramas, her appearance in ‘Lady Boxer’ will present a different look. Viewers can expect to see her delivering powerful punches in this action-packed and emotional film.
Directed by Santosh Joshi, the film’s screenplay is written by Satyendra Singh, with Ravi Tiwari serving as the chief assistant director. The producers are Sandeep Singh and Atharv Singh. Anjana Singh will take on the lead role, although further details about the film are yet to be revealed.
Bhojpuri cinema is currently moving towards new narratives and strong female characters, and ‘Lady Boxer’ is a significant step in that direction. The filming took place in Azamgarh.
