Animal Welfare Calendar Launched to Promote Compassion and Environmental Balance

Udaipur, January 17: To mark the Pashu Kalyan Pakhwada (Animal Welfare Fortnight), observed from January 14 to 30, a calendar promoting compassion and welfare for animals was launched at Bhupal Noblesโ€™ Institution. This initiative commemorates Thakur Moti Singh Jagawat, the institutionโ€™s first student, with the calendar material compiled by his grandson Satyapal Singh Chundawat and published by Raj Nobles. The event took place at Pratap Chowk under the auspices of the institutionโ€™s Vidya Pracharini Sabha.

The Role of Compassion in Environmental Balance

Dr. Virendra Singh Chundawat, Principal of BN School, shed light on the importance of observing Pashu Kalyan Pakhwada. The keynote speaker and coordinator, Satyapal Singh, emphasized that environmental balance can only be achieved through the protection of animals and fostering compassion for all living beings.

โ€œOur motto should shift from โ€˜Where there is life, there is a worldโ€™ to โ€˜Where there is a world, there is life.โ€™ Nature operates in a delicate interdependence, and it is our responsibility to ensure its harmony,โ€ said Satyapal Singh. He further stressed that caring for ill or helpless domestic animals is a hallmark of humanity.

Addressing Cruelty Against Animals

The lecture outlined key aspects of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, highlighting actions deemed punishable offenses, including:

  • Failing to provide adequate food, water, or shelter for animals.
  • Beating, kicking, or overburdening animals.
  • Forcing sick or injured animals to work.
  • Killing or illegally confining animals.

Students and Teachers Take Pledge for Animal Welfare

Following the lecture, students and teachers took nine unique pledges aimed at promoting animal welfare and compassion. They committed to spreading awareness in their neighborhoods and collecting signed pledge forms from the public to encourage broader participation.

Distinguished Guests and Future Activities

The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including the institutionโ€™s Vice President Dr. Jabbar Singh Tadawada, Minister Dr. Mahendra Singh Agariya, Managing Director Mohabbat Singh Rathore, Registrar Dr. Niranjan Narayan Singh Khod, Nakul Singh Bhati, Gajendra Singh Ghatiyawali, Bhawani Pratap Singh Jhala, and Raghubir Singh Madara.
