New Delhi, June 8: Anand Dubey, spokesperson for Shiv Sena (UBT), responded to recent statements made by Telangana Chief Minister Revant Reddy regarding the delimitation issue and the position of the India Alliance. He emphasized that efforts to divide the country based on states should be avoided. Dubey also advised the Congress party to take the initiative in enhancing coordination within the opposition alliance.
In reaction to Reddy’s comments, Dubey stated that India is a strong and beautiful nation filled with diversity. He argued that the idea of dividing the country based on states or regions is not appropriate. “India is like a beautiful bouquet, comprising flowers of different colors and fragrances. Each has its own identity, yet together they symbolize unity and integrity,” he remarked.
On the issue of the delimitation bill, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader pointed out that the central government has a sufficient majority in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to pass any bill. However, he clarified that the opposition will not remain silent on this matter. The opposition will demand thorough discussions and transparency from the government. He insisted that the government should present the complete draft of the delimitation proposal to the public for review. If the proposal serves the nation’s interest and is positive, the opposition may consider supporting it.
Regarding the India Alliance meeting and the roles of various parties, Dubey noted that Congress, being the largest party in the coalition, has the responsibility to lead and include all allied parties. He urged Congress to take the initiative to address the grievances of parties like the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Communist Party of India (Marxist), and Aam Aadmi Party, and to adopt a path of dialogue.
In light of the DMK’s decision to distance itself from the India Alliance meeting and questions surrounding the participation of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Dubey stated that disagreements within any family are natural. He described the alliance as a family and emphasized that a democratic system should allow space for diverse opinions and dissent.
