Agartala, March 8 : on Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday unveiled the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) project at Mata Tripureswari temple – one of the 51 Shaktipiths – at Udaipur in Gomati district along with Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. Before offering puja and prayers, Shah opened the silver door of the temple. In order to renovate and add facilities to the temple area, the on Tourism Ministry has approved Rs 44 crore. The state government has also allocated 14.22 acres of land around the temple where temples and idols of all 51 Shaktis would be constructed. During his meeting with officials and members of the temple management committee, Shah praised the state government for its innovative concept to construct replicas of all 51 Shakti Devis in a single complex. This will enhance religious tourism in the state and give people the opport ty to receive blessings from all Devis in one place. The Shaktipith temples have been set up iat 51 locations in Asia as per Hindu mythology. Andpeople of the country were rarely able to see all those important temples in their lifetime. Against this backdrop, the state government had mooted the idea to construct all 51 Shaktipith temples in Fulkumari village of Udaipur, close to the Mata Tripureswari temple. Of the 51 Shaktipiths, 38 are in India, six in Bangladesh, three in Nepal, two in Pakistan and one each in Tibet and Sri Lanka. BB RN SSP
