
Mumbai, June 14: Actress Ameesha Patel has made a bold claim regarding the audience footfall for her film ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.’ She recently took to social media to assert that her film continues to hold a robust position at the box office in terms of viewer numbers.
On Sunday, Patel shared several screenshots on the social media platform X, showcasing data related to audience numbers based on web and AI searches. The figures indicated that Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar’ attracted approximately 3.22 to 3.56 crore viewers during its theatrical release, making it one of the most-watched Hindi films.
The data also noted that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ recorded over 4.3 crore viewers across all languages, with its Hindi version surpassing 4 crore.
In contrast, Patel’s film ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ achieved over 5.05 crore in theatrical footfall during its release in India. Meanwhile, ‘Gadar 2’ drew around 3.40 to 3.50 crore viewers to theaters.
While sharing these statistics, Ameesha Patel expressed on social media that she feels “lucky.” Her statement comes amid ongoing discussions where she has previously claimed that ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ still holds a strong record in terms of audience numbers.
On the other hand, ‘Dhurandhar’ is being recognized as one of the major box office successes in recent times. The film has remained popular among audiences, boasting strong occupancy rates and sold-out shows in various regions. Its dubbed versions have also received positive responses in different languages, enhancing its pan-India reach.
