
Mumbai, May 20: A 40-year-old man has been accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy in the Agripada area of Mumbai. Authorities reported on Wednesday that a search for the fleeing suspect has commenced.
The accused has been identified as Adil Ishaq Latif, a resident of Agripada, who has been on the run since the case was registered. Reports indicate that he allegedly showed the victim pornographic films and engaged in sexual exploitation.
Whenever the boy resisted, the accused reportedly threatened him, warning that there would be “serious consequences.”
The incident took place at the Clock Tower Residential Society in Agripada. According to officials, the accused was known to the victim’s family. The complaint alleges that Adil Ishaq Latif took advantage of situations when no other family member was present at home.
Police officials stated, “Gathering courage, the victim shared his ordeal with his family. Following this, the family approached the Agripada police station to file a formal complaint.”
Based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s family, the Agripada police in Mumbai have registered a case under Section 351(2) of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act, initiating a search for the accused.
Adil Ishaq Latif has been missing since the case was filed. Authorities have emphasized the seriousness of the situation and have launched an intensive investigation.
Search operations are underway at multiple locations to apprehend the fleeing suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
