Patna, May 10: The Congress party has raised serious questions regarding the formation of the BJP government in West Bengal. Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram expressed sharp criticism over the recent developments on Saturday. He claimed that significant irregularities occurred during the election process in the state.
In an exclusive interview with a news agency, he stated that there were allegations of vote theft, and the role of the Election Commission has come under scrutiny. He specifically mentioned Election Commission official Gyanesh Kumar, highlighting that these incidents took place in his presence.
Ram pointed out that nearly 2.7 million voters’ names were removed from the electoral rolls, following the prior removal of approximately 72,000 to 73,000 names. This action was taken unilaterally, indicating direct involvement of the Election Commission. He also accused various government agencies of being complicit in this process, collectively influencing the power shift in Bengal.
The Congress leader further asserted that the decision of winning or losing in elections is no longer in the hands of the public. Instead, it appears predetermined in favor of certain parties. He emphasized that this situation poses a serious concern for the democratic framework. According to him, attempts have been made to form a government while sidelining the Constitution, democratic processes, and voters’ rights.
Rajesh Ram concluded by stating that the most shocking aspect is the apparent disregard for the Constitution, democratic principles, and the rights of voters. Allegations of vote theft have surfaced, and through this process, a government is now being formed.
