Mumbai, October 14 (Daily Kiran): Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is all set to return to high-octane action with the Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster ‘Sankranti Ki Vastunam’. The actor, last seen in Jolly LLB 3, is reportedly excited about the project after being deeply impressed by the original film’s story.
According to reports, the Hindi remake is currently in the pre-production stage, with casting underway. Sources revealed that Akshay personally decided to take up the remake after watching the original, which was directed by renowned Telugu filmmaker Anil Ravipudi.
The original Sankranti Ki Vastunam was an action-comedy film starring South superstar Venkatesh Daggubati in the lead role. Released on January 14, 2025, it went on to become a massive box-office success, earning between ₹250–300 crore worldwide.
While the lead actress for the Hindi version is yet to be finalized, the film’s production schedule has been slightly delayed due to Akshay Kumar’s busy lineup of projects.
Looking ahead, Akshay has several major releases in 2026, including ‘Bhoot Bangla’, ‘Haivan’, ‘Phir Hera Pheri 3’, and ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. The actor, known as Khiladi Kumar for his action-packed performances, has a strong record with South Indian remakes such as Rowdy Rathore and Sarfira, both of which performed well at the box office.
Fans are now eagerly waiting to see how the Hindi version of Sankranti Ki Vastunam shapes up and whether Akshay can recreate the film’s blockbuster success in Bollywood.
