Mumbai, October 18 (Daily Kiran) : Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar recently met with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in Mumbai. The meeting, which took place at the Chief Minister’s official residence, has sparked interest on social media. Dhami shared images from the meeting on the platform X, highlighting discussions around the state’s new film policy, potential for film shoots, and the vision to establish Uttarakhand as a prominent film destination in India.
In his post, Dhami expressed enthusiasm about their conversation, stating, “Today, I had a special meeting with renowned Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar at my official residence. We discussed the new film policy, the immense possibilities for film production, and how to develop Uttarakhand as a major film destination in the country.”
He further noted that Uttarakhand is emerging as a favored location for filmmakers due to its natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and favorable film policies. “Our aim is to create new job opportunities for local youth while making Uttarakhand a hub for film production,” he added.
Currently, Kumar is filming his upcoming movie in the scenic locales of Mussoorie and Landour. CM Dhami emphasized that Uttarakhand has already established itself as a key film shooting destination. The state’s picturesque landscapes and diverse geographical conditions continue to attract filmmakers.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the positive outcomes of the Uttarakhand Film Policy 2024, which facilitates filmmakers through a single-window system for shooting permits and other resources. Additionally, grants have been introduced to promote film production.
“We are committed to encouraging more film shoots in Uttarakhand, which will create new job opportunities for local artists, technicians, and youth,” Dhami stated. He noted that the increase in film production activities benefits tourism, hospitality, transportation, and other local businesses.
Uttarakhand is renowned for its stunning valleys, mountains, rivers, and natural vistas, making it an ideal location for filming. The growth in film shoots not only creates local employment opportunities but also boosts businesses related to hospitality, transport, and services.
