Mumbai, April 6: The trailer for the upcoming film ‘Bhoot Bangla,’ featuring Akshay Kumar, Vamika Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, and Rajpal Yadav, has just been released. The comedic timing of Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, and Akshay Kumar has captured the hearts of fans. During the trailer launch, the entire star cast was present, where Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan shared insights on how this film differs from ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa.’
Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar are collaborating again after nearly 18 years, having last worked together on ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa.’ When asked how ‘Bhoot Bangla’ sets itself apart from other comedy films, especially ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa,’ Priyadarshan explained that while audiences experienced comedy and horror in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa,’ ‘Bhoot Bangla’ also incorporates fantasy elements, including ghosts. He noted that many people in India still believe in ghosts and have distinct images of them, which the film aims to portray on screen.
Akshay Kumar added that returning to work with Priyadarshan feels like coming back from exile. He mentioned that ‘Bhoot Bangla’ offers even more fear and horror compared to ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa.’ Kumar believes that even those who do not believe in ghosts will be convinced after watching the film. He personally stated that he does believe in ghosts.
Sharing his experiences on set, Kumar noted that when Priyadarshan is around, comedy is not forced; rather, situations are crafted to naturally create humor. Addressing the changes in comedy films over time, Paresh Rawal remarked that while scripts used to be strong, there has been a decline. He emphasized the need for good scripts to create quality comedy films, stating that no one understands comedy better than Priyadarshan, with whom he has worked on 19 films.
The film is set to hit theaters on April 16, and a pre-preview has also been arranged.
