Dhaka, May 10: The first Test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan is taking place at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium. On the third day of the match, Pakistan was all out for 386 runs in their first innings. Ajan Awais, a 21-year-old batsman, made headlines by scoring a century in his debut match.
Ajan became the first Pakistani batsman in 17 years to score a century on foreign soil in his Test debut. Resuming from a score of 179/1, Pakistan lost their second wicket after adding just 31 runs. Ajan Awais was the first batsman to be dismissed on the third day, scoring a remarkable 103 runs off 165 balls. Shortly after, captain Shan Masood returned to the pavilion with just 9 runs, followed by Saud Shakeel, who failed to open his account and was dismissed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Abdullah Fazzal contributed 60 runs, hitting 7 fours and a six off 120 balls before getting out. Mohammad Rizwan played impressively, scoring a half-century with 59 runs off 79 balls. Salman Agha was dismissed after scoring 58 runs. Noman Ali managed just 2 runs from 29 balls, while Shaheen Afridi added 13 runs off 17 balls. Hasan Ali was clean bowled by Taijul Islam for 6 runs.
In bowling, Mehidy Hasan Miraz excelled for Bangladesh, taking 5 wickets for 102 runs. Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam each claimed 2 wickets. Based on the first innings, Bangladesh gained a lead of 27 runs after scoring 413 runs. By the end of the day, Bangladesh had scored 7 runs in their second innings without losing a wicket, extending their overall lead to 34 runs. Mahmudul Hasan Joy was on 2 runs, while Shadman Islam remained unbeaten without scoring.
