Mumbai, May 11: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has unveiled a dedicated mobile app to assist citizens with the SIR process. According to the party’s national spokesperson, Waris Pathan, AIMIM is the first political party in the country to launch an app focused on such a critical issue.
He emphasized the sensitivity of this matter, as it directly impacts citizens’ rights and their names on the electoral rolls. Providing accurate information and assistance has become essential.
In an interview with a news agency, Pathan noted that confusion arose among the public after the Election Commission initiated a mapping campaign under the SIR process. Many individuals were unsure about which documents to submit, where to submit them, and how to complete the process. To address this issue, AIMIM invested resources to develop a specialized app that offers both technical and administrative support.
Pathan explained that the goal was not just to create the app but also to train party workers on its operation and usage. Camps have been set up in various areas to educate people about the SIR process through the app and provide necessary assistance. This initiative has significantly eased the process for citizens, allowing them to update their information more conveniently.
He pointed out that during the SIR process, individuals often faced various challenges. Sometimes names were incorrectly listed on the electoral rolls, or changes in residence caused complications.
The app was designed to resolve such issues, ensuring that no individual’s name is unjustly removed from the voter list. AIMIM remains committed to assisting the public and will continue to raise awareness about important issues like the SIR process.
