Mumbai, 12 January: Political tensions are rising ahead of Maharashtra’s local body elections. On Monday, Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aditya Thackeray sharply criticised the ruling MahaYuti government.
Speaking to reporters, Aditya Thackeray said, “No matter how hard the government tries, it is clear that it neither loves Mumbai nor Maharashtra. People will only support Shiv Sena (UBT), MNS, and NCP leaders. Raj Thackeray demonstrated on Sunday how the entire state’s focus is being diverted, and Maharashtra’s resources are being given free to an industrialist. This is exploitation, not governance.”
He added, “The BJP has only increased taxes in Mumbai and exploited the city. Bringing incompetent leaders like Annamalai to Maharashtra is an insult to the state.”
The Shiv Sena (UBT) legislator further criticised the government’s approach, saying, “Devendra Fadnavis promised AI tools in the manifesto, but why? Not for the city’s benefit, but to identify Bangladeshis. What have they done in the past 12 years? Look at the UPA’s data and now BJP’s. Under their Prime Minister for 12 years, with their Home Minister at the Centre for 12 years, and Fadnavis himself as Home Minister for 10 years, they never noticed any Bangladeshis. Now suddenly, they are visible.”
Addressing Tamil Nadu politics, Aditya Thackeray stated, “This clearly reflects BJP’s policy and mindset. Annamalai is BJP’s face but remains a zero who couldn’t save his bail or win elections. Look at Stalin, who is progressing Tamil Nadu, while BJP only creates conflicts. Annamalai has opposed Maharashtra, which the state will not tolerate. Both Annamalai and BJP have insulted Maharashtra.”
