New Delhi, May 1: Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, announced on Friday that the group will add ₹2 lakh crore in new assets this year due to rapid growth across all its businesses.
Addressing the group’s 400,000 employees on International Labor Day, Adani stated, “In our first 35 years of operations, we collectively built assets worth approximately ₹2 lakh crore. Today, our position is so strong that we are set to add ₹2 lakh crore in new assets this year alone.”
He emphasized the group’s commitment to contributing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
Citing various projects like Mundra and the recently completed Ganga Expressway, Adani remarked, “When we complete a project, we are not just finishing a task; we are shaping the future of our country.”
He noted that the Mundra project has transformed a vast area of barren land into India’s largest port, boosting trade and connecting the nation to the rest of the world.
Similarly, the Vizhinjam port in Kerala is set to give India a new identity on the global maritime map and propel the country towards becoming a robust freight hub. Adani highlighted that the Khavda project in Kutch, where the group is currently building one of the world’s largest green energy projects, lays the foundation for a safe and clean future for generations to come.
He also mentioned that the Navi Mumbai International Airport has become a source of pride for the country as one of the best airports globally, enhancing India’s aviation capabilities, increasing connectivity, and opening new opportunities for millions.
Adani stressed the significance of the 594-kilometer Greenfield Ganga Expressway project in Uttar Pradesh, inaugurated by the Prime Minister this week. He stated that this project will reduce travel time from Meerut to Prayagraj from 10-11 hours to just 5-6 hours, impacting the lives of over 80 million people.
Additionally, he highlighted the Dharavi slum redevelopment project in Mumbai, stating, “This is not just a project; it is perhaps the largest and most challenging human transformation effort in the world.”
Gautam Adani concluded, “All these projects initiated by the Adani Group represent a humble contribution to nation-building.”
