Actress Roop Durgapal Makes Her OTT Debut in Prakash Jhas Series Sankalp

Mumbai, March 9: Actress Roop Durgapal, known for her roles in popular TV shows like ‘Swaragini,’ ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi,’ and ‘Balveer,’ is set to make her debut in the OTT space. She will soon be seen in the upcoming web series ‘Sankalp,’ where she plays the character Madhuri, the wife of actor Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub.

Roop praised her co-star Zeeshan’s acting skills, stating, “Zeeshan is a fantastic actor. His training from NSD and extensive experience in films and web series have taught me a lot. His perspective on scenes, command over language, and energy greatly enhanced our performances together. I looked forward to his arrival on set every day.”

The actress also commended the entire team of the series. She expressed her excitement about working with such talented artists. “When everyone is doing great work, there is so much to learn both on and off set. Working with Nana Patekar and Prakash sir felt like understanding acting, filmmaking, and many aspects of life. I learned a lot from Meghna Malik as well. We had great conversations during lunch and dinner. They are not only excellent actors but also wonderful human beings,” she shared.

Roop revealed how she received the offer for the series. “Until 2019, I hadn’t thought much about moving beyond television, but everything changed during COVID. Watching people leave made me realize that life is short. You never know what could happen. That’s when I decided to try things I was previously afraid of,” she explained.

Originally from Almora in Uttarakhand, Roop has also performed in theater, which was a new experience for her. She shared her thoughts on theater, saying, “Performing on stage without cuts or retakes after months of rehearsal was quite strange, but the uncertainty of life gave me courage. Performing fearlessly on stage was a fantastic experience. This courage empowered me to transition from TV to web series.”

The actress believes that everyone’s journey is unique and that everything happens at the right time. “Perhaps my journey was meant to be this way. The number of years doesn’t matter. I am very happy that it all unfolded naturally,” she stated.

The series is directed by Prakash Jha, whom Roop praised as well. “Working with Prakash sir was like studying at a prestigious institution. It was enjoyable and created memorable moments,” she added.
